Type 38 Japanese Carbine

 ;D took the little gun to the range today. 5 shots in the bullseye out of 5! I know what I'm using this deer season. ;D

My wife's uncle brought one back from the pacific in WWII. Not the carbine, but the full length rifle. It was given to me after his death. It is rapidly becoming one of my favorite rifles.

I've got an old beater from the Mukden Arsenal in Manchuria. Came with the barrel mounted peep sight, and I swapped out the front for a flat top post from a Swede 96. First time I took it to the range, I fired 5 rounds at a 100 yard target. The fellahs at the next bench glassed my target before I went to pick it up. They their gear in the truck, and sprayed gravel all over me on the way out. Them 5 rounds were clustered in the middle of the black, and I could cover 'em with a quarter. Heck it requires a good day for my scoped Savage to do that good.  :o
