Anyone built a rimmed .376 Steyr using 45/90 brass?

hi wc, it's a neat idea, but i'm not sure it would work. my info shows the 45-90 has a case head measuring .500. whereas the 376 has a .512. So fireforming in a rimmed 376 chamber would most likely end up with case head seperation. But that's not saying you can't neck down the 45-90 to 375, something similar.

Steyr's web site gives a base dia. of .501". I haven't found an unfired case to measure yet.

Hey WC, then what I read must have been a misprint. .001 wouldn't pose any problem. Whatcha thinking of buildin this on?

I haven't really decided to do it yet. If I do ,it will be a Ruger No. 1.
I have a half a dozen other wildcats in the works.

I am a retired tool and die maker ,so I have plenty of time,plus I have "shop rights" in several shops in the area.
