I have been going every morning early and felt they had to turn on soon after a late spawn here. And finally they did. I was using a Bomber crankbait in red crawdad and caught two large crappies first then two small bass next maybe 1 1/2lbers and three 3lbers next within a half hour they just turned on and off when the rain started again. Skipper here is right he mentioned so many ways to use one bait I usually in the past slow reel shallow crankbaits over weeds this time I rip/paused ringing the dinnerbell over the weeds and that did it. Finally the weeds are growing and the fish are there I fish a few hot spots but you have to use the right bait too as you guys know already. So today was average 2 large crappies and 5 bass not bad. My older brother always told me to stay going and they have to turn on sooner or later and he was right so let the season begin!!! The weather pattern is a month behind here. The crappies are just spawning now and the bass are done and feeding. Funny one of my other hot spots isn't active yet soon I hope But it has no weeds yet I think weeds is the key to bass fishing structure and cover!!!!
