The no see ums are in full bloom, white sox aren't far behind, its rained so hard a couple times today that I had a mini torrent in my driveway. Even had some lightening and thunder.

Feels like moose season is very close.

Maybe I'll have more sloughs to float through.

Was up in wasilla last week bow hunting... lots and lots of wet.  No moose.

Fairbanks cow moose over Labor Day.  Can't wait to stick one with a bow.

Dave I hope you are successful and can give us a full report.  A guy shared a little fresh moose heart and liver with me today - mighty fine.  And I don't have to share it with the wife.  She's so kind - she lets me eat it all.

I finally drew a caribou permit for 20A.  Along with the cow moose permit and harvest ticket it looks like something could die this year!

AKPLS:  Good luck finding the Caribou.  They seem to have all moved east of the Totat, away from Ferry.  I have been seeing them in the headwaters of Gold King creek.  Also in the area East of Bonifield creek, and South of Japan hills.  All those areas are in the non-motorized area.  Rog

Luck was with me this year.  Last Friday we caught up to one of several bands moving through our area and managed to take a nice bull.  Got him only 2 miles from camp........but 1300 vertical feet up.  I'll post a couple pics when I get a chance.
