Stoeger Uplander Special 28 Gauge
« on: June 05, 2003, 08:29:11 AM »
I am interested in purchasing a low priced 28 gauge shotgun. The Stoeger ,Uplander Special Side by side seems to be a nice gun  according to literature Ive seen on it. The only model Ive ever seen was the Uplander Supreme. It  looked good for the money ($445) and had a beautiful Brazilian hardwood stock . The Special lists for $365.   Anyone have one or have any comment on the Special? I would appreciate a reply.  Horsefeathers.

Yup. Owned the 28 ga. but traded it in for a 20 ga. when I found out that I couldn't use the 28 ga. in CAS matches. Excellent gun for the money. You won't be sorry if you get one.

If you're not locked into a double, the Remington Wingmasters now come with a variety of chokes, etc.  Seems like the ultimate reasonably-priced 28-ga to me.

The only 28 ga. shotgun Ive been able to hold in my hands at dealers is the Charles Daly o/u Field II Hunter. I liked it so I ordered one. Horsefeathers.
