green top vs. gander mt.

If you live east of the blue ridge and maybe the Mississippi river , you hunt or fish its a good chance you have heard of or visited GREEN TOP SPORTING GOODS in HANOVER VA. (GT) . GANDER MT.(GM) has built a new store with in spitting distance of GT . what do you feel will be the result for GT OR GM ? I hope GT will win out , can't help but feel GM is using GT's draw to get people in their store ! GT can most likely go toe to toe as long as old customers return and prices are fair , but GM could operate at a loss in one store to capture the market anyone have anything to say ?

Might be some good deals happening, with competition in the neighborhood!

We have the same thing going on here, only it's with grocery stores.
We have a long-established P&C Grocery store who pretty-much controlled the whole area and their prices are very high.
Well now there is a Super Wal Mart going up, about 6 miles down the road and P&C don't like it.

So, some competition in the area actually helps to control the prices.

I agree about price but so far GT has kept prices fair , they match the mail order houses most of the time and get close to wally mart ! and regular customers get a break with out asking most times !
We will see !
