I am debating whether to get a 44 mag Puma or a 454 puma (stainless for both). I already have 44 magnum reloading equipment and haved loved its performance from a rifle on deer. I may not want to deal with the thump of a 454 (my 500 magnum Handi is a bit much with full power loads), but that rifle looks so cool.
Anyhow I have read online that some 44 magnums have been overbore, sometimes by a large margin. Was this a widespread problem? Has it been corrected?
Also, what are the opinions of the sights of these rifles. How accurate are the hi-viz sights? Do the 454 sights have enough travel to handle a wide range of bullet weights?
By the way I am looking at the 16 inch barrel on either.
