The tin stoves can be found at various places. The Sportmans Guide is selling them for $3.00 each.
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/cb/cb.asp?a=365214I know it's a little late for you bear hunters but maybe next year. The 3rd pic has an arrow pointing at some truss plate teeth pointing down, this helps keep the stove underneath stay open and in place.
Also note the 4 corners of the plate were angled off a bit to ease inserting.
All you need is one large and one small coffee can at his point. A candle will slow cook bacon. Even in the wind this device worked beautiful. i went as far as hooking mine up on a little pulley system and would reel them back and forth into the stand to have a snack and add more bacon.
This year I'm not using the pulley system since I know it works. The tea candle burn 4 hours. And as I said I never had the wind blow the candle out. You will need a needle nose pliers to lower the candle down.
Total cost (considering free coffee cans) around $4.00
Warning...if your hunting in a dry area with a fire ban and start a forest fire good luck explaining to the judge a bear knocked over the bacon cooker and started the fire. Shoot the bear before he knocks it over!!
