early 2cycle polaris trailboss
« on: August 27, 2007, 05:20:55 AM »
the transmission housing on my 250 trail boss snapped at the mounting bolt on the chain drive side. The bolt shattered the mounting point on the transmission housing, allowing the reaer end to slop side to side. any idea where to get a housing? or do i need to find a whole transmission.? what would be a good price for this? thanks all

uncle,  I wish I could tell you a place to find those parts, but other than an ebay or Craigslist search, I don't know.  I do remember those models, and they were  fast!  I'm sure that torque after these years of use finally did it in.   Good luck finding those parts..

Do you have anyone in your area that can weld aluminum?  Have it repaired.  I worked at a Cycle shop and we used to have engine and transmission cases repaired quite often.  Much cheaper than tracking the part down and faster too.
