Took the plunge
« on: August 27, 2007, 03:20:36 PM »
I did it tonight. I cam home from the gun shop with an optima elite blued with the black fleck stock. I got the muzzle loader barrel in 50 caliber and the 270 barrel. It was used, but I am the guy who used it before and traded it. I just got the hankering to get it back. I paid 400 for both barrels and both forends. Got a pair of Bushnell banner 3x9x40 to put on them. I will do that tomorrow night and bore sight them and hopefully shoot them wednesday or thursday evening. I also had them order  a 7mmn-08 barrel. That is the main reason I got it back was I was hankering for a 7-08. It was a great shooter before and I look forward to playing with it again.

Very good! By the end of next week, I should know what my 270 likes.

nomo the load I had for this one before was sierra game king 130 grain being pushed by IMR 4350 53.2 grains. I never had a factory shell in it. It shot very well right out of the box that way.  The muzzleloader barrel I did not keep my data. So, I will have to start over with that one, but that is the fun of it.
