Scope for 22LR Anschutz
« on: August 27, 2007, 05:08:53 PM »
Guys, Picked up an Anschutz 22LR sporter for mostly casual target shootings.  It is a great looker and shooter.  Looking for a quality AO scope with reasonable size and price.  I am thinking of the Bushnell Elite 4200 4-16x40 AO but the darn thing is probably too large (14.4" long) for a 22 Sporter.  Need at least 12x magnification and AO down to 10-20yrds.  Any suggestions?

Thanks.

I understand thatt he Mueller APV is going very well with 22LR shooting http://www.muelleroptics.com/products/MAPV451440.html it is much lower priced that the 4200.  If you wanted to spend more you should look at the http://www.muelleroptics.com/products/MAPV451440.html which is closer in price to the 4200.

..............I use a Zeiss Conquest 4.5x14-44 w/side parallax on my 54 sporter but it only adjust down to 30yds.....I use a 4.5x14-40 AO Leupold VXIII on a Win 52 sporter and it adjust down to 25yds......I use 3-9EFR AO leupolds on a couple of other sporters and they adjust from 10yds on.....for field use I find the 25/30yds adjustment on the parallax to be fine for hunting and off hand shooting and I have had such good luck with the Leupold and the Zeiss that I haven't used a Bushnell in years and have heard good things about them from other post but no close shooters in my group use them so I have no personal feedback......enjoy the new gun and good luck and good shooting!!

Anyone has any experience with the Elite 4200 6-24x40SF?  Size is just right (13"), It focuses down to 25 yds., eye relief is 4.6" and quality is Elite 4200.  The only potential concern that I see is the exit pupil goes down to 1.7mm @24x.  Any thoughts?
