CW...if you ever got to shoot mine...you would see just how suited they are to the rimless cartridges too... It's all in the cambering and how it's loaded that makes them what they are...

As soon as I posted that rimmed case statement, I knew someone would call me on it.
I have a number of rimless handis and they can and do shoot extremely well.
Its just when you think on it, 90% of the problems with Handies come from rimless rounds. The rimmed cases are just a natural for a break open firearm.
Just as Rimless is for a bolt, or semi auto. Any of these that have been converted to fire a rimmed round are frought with problems. The 45-70 Siamese Mauser and SMLE bolts as well as the COONAN semi auto pistol come to mind. They can be made to work, but have been abandoned because of "issues" with the design. Its just not rimmed friendly.
Dosent make it bad or take anything away from the guns. its just the way it is. IMHO at least...
Something else to ponder... Why there aren't any rimless shotgun shells? I say because the shotgun made its debut in a SS or SxS design....and the rimmed shell was best suited. Even the old european stopping rounds...many have a rimmed counterpart. Because they are better suited for the SxS rifles they are shot in.
