Texas rabbit

Does anyone in tx hunt rabbit? I grew-up in S.C. and did some rabbit hunting there, but everyone I talk to around here says its to hot for rabbit and they are full of parrisites.

 :D  Howdy!  It would be better to hunt rabbits in the cooler months. The season for rabbits and hares is year round with no bag limits.  In some parts of Texas Jackrabbits are so numerous that they eat up tender green grasses that ranchers would rather have their cows eat. I'm not sure on what all breeds of rabbits and hares are in Texas. Mostly, there is the cottontail, something called a swamp rabbit, and the Jackrabbits. I wish someone would write a book on rabbits and hares in Texas. Anyway, have fun and enjoy your rabbit hunts!   Always, Gene

Good day to all, I live in New Mexico and tried the Jackrabbit. Don't waste your time cooking. make good target practice though. Cottontails are good after the first frost I have come to find out. Have a goodun..........Bill
