how to find year made, super blackhawk hunter

i purchased a very nice used 1 and got to wondering what year it was made..
is it in serial# mine starts out with 88-@$#$%,  any help would be greatfull.

  All the Hunters have the 88 prefix.  Check Ruger's chart here: http://www.ruger.com/Firearms/PS-SNH-RE-NMSBhawkH.html

It's not always 100% but it's darn close. 

  You didn't mention it but is yours chambered in .41 mag, .44 mag or .45 Colt?
