1965 rem. 700 7mm mag. followup.
« on: September 02, 2007, 02:56:19 PM »
concerning my last post about the 700 7mm mag that i had reconditioned. a guy called and asked if i would be interested in trading it for a remington model 721 .30-06 that hadn't been shot very much.sold my NEF ultracomp .30-06 last year (wasn't as accurate as i wanted even after trying all the tricks to better the accuracy of it). have never had a 721 but have heard that they are super strong and very accurate and i really miss a .30-06 in my gun cabinet!! waiting to hear back from this gentleman and am leaning toward the trade if the gun is in decent shape. anyone have any experience with this model and does it seem like a good trade. appreciate any and all comments. thanks, Sert01

I would keep the 7MM magnum. The 721 is an OK action and a strong one. The 700 is an improved 721. In reality you have a special Model 700. I would buy the 721 rather than trade if I just had to have a 30-06. The 721 unless it is a deluxe version just doesn't have a big resale value.
