TASCO SCOPE 6-24X40mm
« on: September 03, 2007, 01:38:01 PM »
I bought my son one of these so he could go in the factory class competitions at my rifle club. I really didn't think it was a good idea but my son talked me into it. Well it is a pretty good scope. It cost $100.00CDN. It sure seems like it was worth it. I guess time will tell. He put it on his 204 so not allot of recoil. Anyone have any opinions on it?

I looked at a Tasco 3x9 today at Wal Mart. It was priced under $25.00. Let me know how yours works out. I'm looking for something for my Versa Pack.  I was afraid to buy it :-\

The Bushnells Performance owned Tascos are much better than the previous owned Tasco products, those that were made subsequent to the old Japan built Tascos are the ones to watch out for.

I bought 2 the last time they were on sale for $69 but they were the 6/x24X44's. I've got them mounted on 2 very serious Varmit guns, and they're doing just fine.   Digger

All current production Tascos are made in China, no surprise there at all. The Super Sniper used to be made by Hakko, but they went out of business, and are now under new ownership and being made in..........you guessed it, China. :D Chinese made scopes aren't all that bad, they are indeed the Japan of this day and age. They have some pretty high tech facilities from what I've learned, and even Muellers, which we know are great scopes, are made there, with the exception of the TacII which is made in Japan, and costs more.

It's a wonder what Slave labor can do for prices, and you never get an item that was made on Friday in a hurry, they work them 24/7.  Larry

I have a 6-24x AO on my .223 - It works great.  I have found that it's clearest between 16 and 18x.  I pretty much just leave it there and use the AO ring as yardage changes.

I had a couple of these on 10/22's years back. They worked perfectly NO PROBLEMS!!

I think I tried them on some small center-fires too, but not sure. I do remember that they worked just fine. I am also sure they would hold up to whatever the average guy/shooter would want o put them on. (No air guns)

Good luck,
