« on: September 04, 2007, 10:28:15 AM »

Search the Internet for G2 contender and trigger.  There are several sources for information and parts.  For the most part if you hone the rough spots off without changing the geometry you will get a fine trigger for hunting.  If you want less than 2 pounds you may have to add parts or send it off.

I have 3 G2s that all came in around 2 to 2.5 pounds and breaking like glass without having to do anything.  I am wondering where your trigger is now?

As I've not worked on a lot of G2 Contenders I'm no authority but the main difference seems to be the removal of the set trigger and making the action much more like the Encore. There is an interceptor that blocks firing if the action is not fully closed and locked. The Encore has a problem if this is not correctly fitted. If honing any of these pistol either the G2 or the Encore just polish, do NOT alter dimensions or angles.. To do so would create a problem... perhaps a dangerous one..

Gunnut is right.  Take it easy, and don't change angles or remove to much material.  Put it back together ofter, and do it by hand.  Often you have removed plenty and there are still machining marks in the sear surfaces, but more contact is made by taking down some of the high spots.  It is easy to go to far if you try to go to fast.  But then that is with every trigger.
