VZ-24, a hundred bucks, Fagen stock closeout, thirty five bucks, the rest done in my basement.  Old K-4 Weaver with post ret., reworked mauser safety, Timney trigger.  I tapered the barrel from the first step thru the second to the receiver.  Barrel is about 19".  Brownell's bake on finish. Glass bedded the whole works.  Shoots good.   WHERE'S YOURS?

Here's a couple.

Top:  #4 MK1:  Fagen semi-inletted stock, Weaver T.O. base and Tip Off rings, Bushnell Sportsman 4X.  Barrel is original length.  The receiver was drilled and tapped by gunsmith, everything else completed at home.  The walnut stock was finished with Tru-Oil.

Bottom:  #4 MK1; Barrel shortened to 22" and receiver drilled and tapped by a gunsmith.  As the above project, everything else was completed at home.  Forend was a hand-me-down and is a close match to the original stock.  Weaver T.O. base and Tip off rings.  Weaver K4 is pictured, but was replaced with a Bushnell Banner 3X9.  Wood was smoothed and relieved of blemishes then rubbed with Tung Oil.

Here is my Model 96 Swedish Mauser. Built in 1906. Timiney Trigger, original stock with some refinish work, original barrel, reblued, cut to 24" and the steps left as is. This gives the barrel a blunt but interesting look since there is no gradual taper. The bolt handle has been bent down and the knob flattened A-Bolt style. I have a number of new and old rifles, but this one is the most accurate at all ranges, very small groups at 200 yards. Paid 100 bucks for it and made in 1906, this is the part that I find most amazing.

THIS IS MY 6.5 SWEDE - Model 95 mauser action from Springfield Sporters ($45.), new 17" 6.5 Swede barrel from Sarco ($30), closeout stock from Fagen, Boyds(?) trigger, plus my safety, trigger guard, checkering & bolt rework.  I made a 4" ported extension & brazed it on the barrel, then had it reblued.  It balanced & held nicer with the extension.  Also,  I have an original German model 98 double set trigger assembly that I'm going to put in the classified section as soon as someone can tell me what it's worth.

OK, here's my  walnut stocked Swiss K31 as I received it and after I steamed the dents and put a few coats of tung oil on it.  I thought it was a shame to keep the nice wood covered with that "original" orange shellac.  It shoots as good as it looks.    I scoped a beech stocked k31 for my hunting milsurp.

Evoc one. Those look real nice. My very first rifle was a #4 MK1.  I could hit a shotgun shell at 100 yrds 4 out of 5 times with iron sights (young eyes). Those bring back alot of good memories.   Jay

I agree, they can be real good shooter's.  I'm not sure that on a good day, even when I was young, I could shoot through open sights that well.   

I sorta grew up around the .303.  My father bought one and had it mildly sporterized back in the late 50's early 60's.  To this day it his only deer rifle.  The brown model above was built around a partially stripped action that he gave me about 30 yrs. ago.
