I forgot to mention. The way this thing works is there are only 1000 tickets. They draw a number out of a barrel every 15 minutes to win a gun or money. To win you must have the exact number. It is only a 3 digit number. The tickets that weren't sold before the bash will be held in a raffle. Did I mention it is all you can eat and drink. That includes the draft beer. The tickets are only $20.00 a piece. Besides that they will go around with raffel tickets that you can buy to win a gun or money. Most times it is $400.00.       Dale

For a fellow who is worried about where the next meal is gonna come from and selling off tools to pay for it this seems like a good place to STAY AWAY FROM. Right now I'd be looking for places to save money not spend it foolishly gambling on a hoped for chance to win. Gambling is NEVER the way to get out from under.

Look at what you are spending that is wasted money. Beer/alcohol, cigarettes, fast food restaurant meals, premium packages for your TV, etc.

Dale you are a good guy, I want the best for you. Take Bill's advice here it is very good. I am now in fairly good shape with the finances, but there was a time when it was not so good. I have been married for 33 years now, but our first Christmas consisted of a 3' cut tree that nobody wanted, 1 string of lights, 1 box of tin icicles, a tin foil star for the top and two light weight jackets for us (because we needed them badly). That is all we could afford. I drove a truck that cost $800 and I did not buy it until I had the cash. I drove a beat up Ford Galaxy 500 before that. I hated that car, but it was all I could afford at the time. We went to our parents house for entertainment, we could not afford to go out, go to movie or go to a restaurant. Every purchase was carefully considered. A few years into the marriage I thought for a long time wrestling whether we could afford to build our house. We grossed $14000/year with both of us working and the house was going to be $29,500. Sounds cheap now, but it wasn't to me then. We really had to watch what we spent, every purchase was how bad do we need it and do I have the cash? We did not have a credit card for years. Tighten up the belt now, it will pay dividends later. We do not have a house payment (we own two) nor do we have a car payment. Good luck to you Dale; I and a lot of others wish you the best, don't be a fool. ;)

GB I have had these tickets for 3 months. Dale

Got back from the gun bash a little while ago. There were a lot of real nice guns there. I did not win any though. I did not have the money to buy extra raffle tickets. Allthough there was a lot of food and free beer.  Dale

Sorry to hear you did not win anything, really. :( Gambling is not the way out of debt, too many make that mistake. It takes planning and doing without.

Don't get disheartened Dale. I have went through lean times. It is tough when you have no job, no prospects and the bills keep rolling in. I did always anticipate the worst and tried to be in a position so that when things got rough I was not in debt very much. I have been times when I went through several month stretches with no job. I have also worked jobs that were "beneath" me, but if it paid the bills until something better came along I did it. I worked 5 months in a iron foundry once. Very dirty and dangerous, it did not pay great, but I could work as many hours as I could handle. It kept my head above water, until my kind of job came along and was thankful to have it. I have fought depression, but thankfully not bill collectors. You will work your way out, but like I said before and several others; tighten your belt up very tight. Do not spend a dime for anything but the necessities of a basic life (you still have your health, your wife and kids). And after you find more work be frugal, not only until you get everything caught up but into the future, so when this happens again (and it will) you will be prepared as you can be.  :)
