20 ga and greendot load

I have not loaded 20 ga. for a few years. My go to load was always 14.5 grs. of greendot in AA hulls and win20 AA wads for 1200 fps.
After checking the alliant website I see that the load has been cut to 11.2 grs for 1050 fps . What changed ?

Doesn't sound like a changed load just a lighter one. I've used 12.5 grains green dot for the 28 gauge and 14.5 grains for the 20 gauge for at least 20 years or more. Lotsa folks are going lighter these days to reduce recoil and several of the older shooters at my club at shooting at 1000-1050 fps with all gauges.

I've backed off in 20 gauge myself and now shoot only 3/4 oz rather than 7/8 oz and try to run it at about 1125-1135 fps. My shoulder appreciates the difference. I still run my 28 and .410 loads up closer to 1200 but not over that.

   Thanks for the reply. Perhaps I will give the 3/4 oz loads a try since I am shooting 7/8 oz in 12 ga.
Green dot for 28 ga. ?  Do you have any idea where I can get data for this ? I just bought a new reloader for it and would love to keep powders to a minimum

The older Lyman shotshell manuals have lots of green dot data for the 28 but the newer manuals seem to have moved away from it. I'm currently using Universal for it and like it fine. In the older Remington 28 gauge hulls using Remington wads the 12.5 grain load was all I used for many years. With the newer Remington Premier STS it doesn't seem to fill the hull properly for me which is why I started looking around for other powder options. I've used Winchester Super Field and even Unique of late but the Universal is what the last ten pounds or so of powder I've burned in 28 gauge has been.
