Just put in for buffalo - Wish me luck please.

Need all the help and prayers I can get. I just put in for the Montana Bison permits for Jan 1 - Jan 22 in West Yellowstone area. Only 10 either sex and 14 Cow/calf will be given out. I am fighting this cancer thing and hope my health will hold out and I might get a chance to actually shoot a big buff. Everybody keep your fingers crossed for me please because I believe in the power of the masses. If drawn I might have to get another H&R (Buffalo Classic) to take on the hunt. Which caliber would you go with???? ???

Best wishes for your hunt chances!  That would be a great draw.  As for cartridge, tradition would almost demand a 45-70, wouldn't it?

Our prayers are with you, both for your health and luck in the drawing!! 45-70 for sure, but a 45-90/100/110/120 would be cool too!! ;)

Have you tried the Make a Wish foundation?  Not sure if it works for us big kids but might have a look see.

 ;D that's awesome best of luck to you in receiving the tag and i wish you well. Regarding the caliber just to be different i will say 38-55 buffalo bore ammo makes some appropriate ammo that has plenty of power. buffalo burger i am already drooling .....mmmmm yummy. good luck on your hunt , justin

good luck in health and your draw. if you do drawe i would say .45-70 for your choice with the rifle. my local gunshops owner and his wife took a hunt 2 years ago. his wife used a sharps .45-70 loaded with level 2 pmc 350 gr flat points at 2000 fps. she hit it the boiler room from about 90 yards and dropped it right in its tracks.
