YOU used the fact that the 30/06 was used in Wars to make it look Good... MANY others were used also, Many are still being used, the 30/06 is Not one of them.

I NEVER compared the .223 to the 30/06, only you did... I compared that both were used in Wars.

An interesting little side tidbit about 30-06 vs 223 in military rifles. One of the things discovered when actual field use was analyzed during WWII and Viet Nam was that in WWII a lot of soldiers didn't fire their weapons because they didn't know now and were intimidated by them. In Viet Nam, soldiers did fire their weapons, but seldom hit anything they were aiming at.
