No, not a 280 Ackley, can't shoot factory ammo, got too much head space. The case on the left is Nosler Custom 280 Ackley, the other is fire formed to my chamber.

Mitchell I just trying to thin out some barrels and guns.I've got to rooms that I have to stumble over guns that I've bought I've got a Saiga 308 that really shoots the 125 gr. BT's good, and I'll probably use it mostly from now on,because of the thickets I hunt in.   Digger

The 280 is a seven mag without the recoil.  More comfortable.

rbergum95..thank's i'll probably buy a box of factory ammo..& hopefully get to the range one night after work..just to get it on paper..as far as developing a load for it..that will probably be more of a spring "project"..it's getting that time of year where my "spare" time will be spent hunting...i just like the ejector so i jumped on this one...

well...i drug her out last night for a test drive...i had the boy's @ the local gunshop bore sight..her..for me...&25 yrds...1st two dead on..moved target to 100..fired two round's..high of course & left a tad...made the adjustment's...let her cool about 1/2 hour..& shot a five shot group..allowing 2-3 minute's between shot's..the result was a 3 1/2" group..using fusion 140 grainer's..i'm not upset with the group..the rifle only has nine round's through it..i can't wait to reload for it..i was also pretty happy with the recoil...

The .280 is a great round, accurate and with the plethora of 7mm (.284) bullets out there it will take down anything on this continent and some others to boot. I had 3 and am now down to 2, my 19" barreled "Thunderboomer" with a Simmons Red Dot sight, just the ticket for the thickets or for reaching out when you have to and a long barreled on (boh Handi's of course). I only sold one because 2 were identical and I thought I could get by with one of each. I have doubles of other calibers I may have to sell soon though, but my 2 current .280's will not be going in the foreseeable future, they are great guns!!....<>,....:)
