358 win brass
« on: September 16, 2007, 06:44:00 PM »
How much is a once fired box of Winchester 358win brass with original box etc.  I have like close to around 350-500 rounds of once fired in factory box head-stamped brass i don't reload but but for some reason kept all the brass shot through my BLR and have been thinking of selling or trading to someone who could use it as soon i have an idea of what fair market value is i plan on putting it on the classified forum at a good price. justin

It isnt especially rare and is still available so id say its probably worth about the same as a box of 308 or 06 brass.

Unless real rare used brass will usually bring 25% to 50% of new brass depending on how badly someone wants it. I've seldom paid or asked more than 25%. You're always taking a wee bit of a gamble when buying "once fired" brass that it really might be multiple times fired in spite of what you're being told and I think some at least if not most factor that in when buying unless they know the person well. I know I do even tho most times it is as described. Still I gotta want it pretty badly and/or it be a bit hard to locate to pay 50% of new cost for fired brass cuz even tho once fired you really never know the condition of it since you don't know the chamber it was fired in.

Once fired brass is worth a whole lot more to the person that fired it the first time than to anybody else. You will have to full length size it and start over. Bill is probably right that it is worth 25% of new brass unless it is of rare or obsolete vintage.  ;)
