Any recommend loads for pistol cartridge silhouette for the Marlin 1894 CB in a .357

Although I shoot a Winchester, this load works great for me and it might do just as well for you.. It's a light load with low recoil. Remember, you just want to knock the target over, not drive it back 10 yrds. You still only get one point regardless how hard you hit it.

Winchester Case
Federal 210 Primer
Remington 125 gr. FN Bullet
5.7 grs. Unique Powder

I use a Lee crimp die.

I used to shoot a couple of different loadings in 357, for silhouette, using a 195-200 gn swc or rnfp slug.  5.5 gns of W231 pushes that slug to about 1050 - nice load; 12.2 of IMR 4227 gets you to about 1000, so would 10.5 of 2400. 

The 200 gn slug has enough 'carry' to knock the target over without driving it back into the berm and those loadings are easy enough to shoot from a revolver, so they should shoot nicely (easily, I should say) from a rifle.  Mikey.

That load I posted earlier is still knock'um down. Today I received my NRA Grand Slam pin #61 in pistol cartridge and at the end of last month, won the High Senior trophy at the Pa. State Championship in Cowboy Lever Action Pistol Cartridge. I'm not changing loads anytime soon!

I tuned my 1894 carbine with a scope with "155gr" gaschecks (actually I think his mold is 145 and they weigh in at about 153 with GC and lube)to 13.9gr H110 and it's tight enough to plink at 200yd swinger.

Then I fed same load to 1894CB with peep site and it's straighter than I can hold it after five yrs of silhouette
