M-700 bolt handle seperation?
« on: September 21, 2007, 12:57:31 PM »
Had a hunter on a goat hunt fall in some rocks and break off the bolt handle, looked like it was soldered on. I know the 788s were soldered, maybe they all are? Real sad part of the story is 30 min later a possible B&C goat walked within 30 yds, poor guy couldn't put a bullet in the pipe. Did get him a goat next day with his backup gun.

they are not soldered.  they are brazed.   generally it is done well enough to hold up to any 'reasonable' use.

take care,
