After looking at some of the negative posts here does anybody have anything good to say about the 92? Anybody like them?

If that is the Beretta clone of the 92, then I used to own one.  Out of the 4 Taurus handguns I had, it was the best of the bunch. 

My only complaint was that I hated the trigger pull, but that may have been part of the design as my Airforce buddy uses a Beretta 92 and he hates the trigger pull on it too.  The aluminum frame seemed to be soft as I shot several hundred rounds through it before I installed a recoil buffer and you could see where the rest of the gun had been hammering on the frame, it just seemed that there was more wear than there should have been for only 600 rounds or so.   

The gun was very reliable and had good ergonomics for my large hands.  Probably should have kept it as a nightstand home defense gun, I think I paid around $350.00 NIB for it in 1997.

A good buddy of mine, and I have shot the heck out of it too.  It's been a good gun for him, he hasn't broke it.  Shooting it was nice, the frame handles the round really well.  ITs not like a 9mm is a hard kicker in the first place, but the 92 is a good gun to shoot it out of.

Bub524, I have had for years a Taurus PT92 9mm and I love it. The only bit of problem that I have ever had with it was one of the side screws coming loose on the right side grip wood. I lost it at the range. I called Taurus and they sent me a four free screws after looking up the serial#. I believe that I had read in Guns n Ammo many years ago that that Taurus has purchased Beretta equipment and was producing firearms in (I want to say Argentina) before moving there factory to Florida. A quality product in both semi auto and revolvers with a life time warranty. -gary
