Anyone use Hornady light magnum ammo in their Handi?
« on: September 24, 2007, 10:21:21 AM »
I don't reload, and I'm wondering if anyone here uses the Hornady light magnums in their Handi rifles and what kind of results do you get?

I know they shoot really well in other firearms, but I've not seen it mentioned much here!

Seems that the Handi rifles like the Core-lokts, and Fussion ammo, and some Winchester Supremes, but other than reloads that seems to be the standard diet of the Handi.

My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

This load has caused problems for many handi owners, including myself.  Problems like, sticking cases to opening actions on firing.

Stick with the standard loadings, weather Win/Rem/Fed stds or premium stuff.

I remember reading something to that effect, but couldn't remember if I read it here, or else where, but I have a friend that shoots hand loads, and has a couple boxes that he wanted to give to me.

He says they shoot good but off a little from his favorite loads and doesn't want to have to re-sight his rifle to use them.

But, I wasn't sure if I could use them in my rifle, so I decided to check here to see if anyone has had luck with them before I take them off his hands.

Just my luck!

Thanks Tim!

That pretty much answers my concerns!
