broken contender firing pin
« on: September 25, 2007, 07:49:14 AM »
where is a good place to get a new one?  it's around an 86 vintage with  the center/rim fire selector on the hammer.  are both pins the same or is the rimfire pin different?  the spring is in poor shape too.

Contact the factory - they have a great warranty program and customer service.

Craw,  I recently sent my frame ( older contender ) back to T/C, it had a bent rimfire pin and the "safety" slide wouldn't budge.  When I got it back they had replaced the entire hammer assy. with the newer style . ( selector on top of hammer ) all at no charge.  They truly are great to deal with.  I called them first, then followed their instructions for delivery to them.  Good luck,  mike

that sounds good, can i just order a pin from them or do i have to send the frame in?  i don't really want to mail the frame around.  my rimfire pin was bent too and snapped when i tried to straighten it.

Don't know about getting parts from T/C....Really its pretty painless to send your frame in.  As I said before, they'll make any upgrades at the time for you. Most of the time, the factory will do you a good job !

i called their customer service today and asked if i could get the parts sent to me (firing pin, spring, and hammer spring) they said sure and are sending them to me for no cost and no shipping.  i've heard about their good customer service but now i'm really impressed.
