the ruger forum is good for discussion of that as pointed out.. I have one and just learned the things are not made any more and command a good price... I actually like the bolt action 77 better as far as accuracy but the gun is accurate and scoped really good squirrel medicine. the mag is a good killer of small game.. ... dk

Whatever you can get for it, I sold mine for $600 shipping included. I see now they are dropping in price $475 to $550. I would stay away from one if I was you.

Lets see what problems I had with mine failure to fire (replaced the firing pin to fix that) failure to extract 98% of the time (never worked that out), not very reliable without sinking a ton of money into one. Best group I every got was 3” at 50 yards.

Oh yeah Ruger will replace it if you return it. SO what does that say about the rifle?

I would stick to the 77/22M or find a Win 9422M. I bought a 9422M Legacy more accurate have shot 3/4” and better groups at 50 yards, and it fires every time you pull the trigger and extracts every time you work the lever.

I guess I just got lucky? I know the things were not too great because I've shot several that others owned. They were definately full of problems. That said though, I bought one of the very first run. I actually had to wait a good while after ordering it.

Mine shot any of the hyper ammo like CCI TNT's or MAXI-Mag +V's into around 1.5" at 100 yards pretty consistently. It wasn't impressive with standard velocity ammo though. I had just a slight problem with extraction, but I filed the groove a little deeper(maybe .010"), and it functioned flawlessly from then on. I guess I just got a jewell out of a bunch of rocks, but I hate I sold it now.
