discontinue a caliber
« on: October 02, 2007, 04:20:40 PM »
The thread  on what new caliber you want introduced has already been done.

Since h&r is a small company, what caliber(s) or guns do you think they should discontinue to free up resources to offer new calibers?  Please explain your reasoning.

Bite your tongue benderboy, that's contrary to most Handiholic's way of thinkin, the more chamberings, the better. ;)

38-55....500 S&W..They have already ceased production on these.....35 Whelen(short barrel) 7.62x39

The 375 Winchester should replace the 38-55...they should bring back the 26" Whelen or come out with the 338 Federal or 338-06 A-Square...or 358 Winchester...and if they want a foreign cartridge...the 6.5x55...or 9.3x62...All of these would work fine in a Handi...and would be a welcome addition especially with a 26" barrel option

Discontinue no way!

I would love to see a Handi chambered for the 303 British, to partner with my Enfield that I've owned since I was 17, which would be 43 hunting seasons in actuallity!

Love that caliber, just for the way it shoots!
My culled down Handi's are the 45-70, and then I have a few others to keep it company...357 Mag/Max. .45 LC/.454 Casull Carbine, .243 Ultra, and 20 gauge Tracker II.

No way. We want more.

Offering old school and odd ball founds is what sets them apart from Rossi, CVA, TC.
They are all offering modern single shots in popular calibers.
One of the neat things about H&R is they still push the history of the single shot.
