45-70
« on: October 05, 2007, 04:17:38 PM »

I'm just curious...Has anyone else besides me got one of the new 45-70 barrels...and if so...How's it shooting...?

I picked up a couple boxes of last years 2050fps Hornady Lever Evolution 325 to try tomorrow with it...Since it did so well in Africa...I figures I might as well see how it shoots for me...

Well...I love how accurate it is...especially with some of the Hornady Lever Evolution ammo I bought...It's the 2050 fps stuff Cabela's has here...

This is with my Nikon 3x9 BDC 250 scope...and shot at 200 yards...

It's a great combo if you guys are interested...

Nice shooting again Mac!
I see the first 2 cutting each other, what did it measure out at?
At 200 yards thats excellent accuracy by any standards especially for one of the oldest cartridges still in production 8)

It measures 1.50" out side to out side...so that brings it just over 1" at 200yards...not too bad at all...I'll be using it as it is come the 12th of November for my managed hunt I got drawn on...
