Savage mod 170 30.30 pump trigger adjustment

Anyone have any experience with the savage 170 pump trigger adjustment, I have one and the trigger action is brutal.

I've not done one of these. They are fairly unusual in this area.. I've attached a parts diagram. It appears to be a fairly complicated system with a linkage for releasing the sear from the hammer. If the weight is the problem a lighter spring could help. Also polishing the contact and rotating surfaces will make them move easier as will cleaning and lubing the assembly. Beware of altering sear angles without a thorough knowledge of trigger mechanics..
