I had one but sold it when I couldn't get the .45 barrel to shoot anything but sabots.  I didn't want to use .40 caliber bullets.  I did kill a couple of deer with the 225 powerbelts and two pyrodex pellets, Winchester 209's.

I had an Encore with a 45 Cal barrel. I used the 195 gr. Barnes expander's with two 50 gr. triple7 pellets. My son and I both killed a lot of deer with is load. The accuracy was very good and the bullets performed great.

Thanks for the input so far. I have tried the POWERBELT 195gr in mine and couldn't get acceptable groups with American Pioneer Powder. This year im going to try 777 FFG with several different bullet / sabot combo's and see how it performs. Im also switching to the WIN 777 209 primer.

195 grain powerbelt? Im not sure what you intend to shoot with that, hopefully not deer sized game! The 195 is a great turkey/ varmint load. But not intended for the use of taking big game.
You should take a look here and then consider sending it back to TC for a .50 barrel.

Your kidding right, I have taken many deer with a 195 gr. barnes expander. All one shot kills from my T/C Encore 45 Cal.

Now I did not use the 195 gr. powerbelts because of accuracy issues. But had I gotten good accuracy, I would of used them on deer.

the bullets you are using is hard lead made to shoot out a pistol. A powerbelt is soft lead for muzzleloader slower speed vol. A 195 grain powerbelt will not hold up on big game.

No the Barnes Expander's are made of copper. I also use 195 gr. PR soft lead bullets and have killed many deer with them in my muzzloader.
I currently am using the PR 195 gr. duplex in my smokeless savage the same ones I used in my Encore to kill many deer.
The 195 gr. power belts will kill deer.

Go to the Power belt web site and get there ballistic information on the 195 gr. bullets and you will see they have enough to do the job.

Many a deer have been killed with 128 grain .45 caliber pure lead balls.  Broadside through the lungs will produce a pass through.  I wouldn't worry about 195 grain Powerbelts out to 125 yards or so.

some say a 295 powerbelt is more than enough for elk while cva advises you to use a minimum of 348 grain powerbelt.

Just giving a heads up warning is all. Dont want to hear any of this " powerbelts suck! i shot a deer at 20 yards and it blew up! i was only used 150 grains of pellets and  a 195 grain powerbelt!"

I use a lot of powerbelts and use them. However i wouldnt dare to use this bullet on a deer.

bigblock455, that's OK, use what you like and what works for you. But like I said, I have used many different 195 gr. bullets in my muzzleloader and all have given me good results.
Many of my friends doubted the 195 gr. PR duplex bullets I used until I killed 15 to 18 deer with them in the past 3 years.

Great input so far. I would use the 195 PowerBelt for deer if they would shoot accurately. Im now going to try Hornady 200gr SST and Hornady 200gr XTP .40cal in a high Knight high pressure sabot. I might even try the 200gr T/C shockwaves. I have two lbs of 777 FFG loose powder. So I guess it off to the range for some trigger time.
