ALso, are you all telling me that I can change the G20 in 10 mm to 40S&W or 357 Sig with a simple barrel change. I know the 40 and 357 are interchangeable and only need the barrel change, but the 10 mm ammo is longer. I don't see how the 40 and 357 can be substitued for a 10. I'll take your word for it though. Thanks again for your thoughts.
Stan
yes, all that is needed to change the G20 over to another c aliber is a barrel change. do remember though that the G20/G21 is LARGER than the other glocks, so a barrel made specifically for the G20/G21 is needed you can get barrels to convert the gun in the following calibers:
40S&W
.357Sig
.400 cor-bon
.45 acp
im sure theres others, but cant think of them off the top of my head right now. also, the G20 will readly accept the G21 barrel for changeover to .45 ACP. the 10mm mags will work too ( ive used them) with the 45 acp,so need to buy a different magazine
as far as buying a 40 S&W barrel, i own a couple of G20's a 1st and 3d gen with the rail/finger grooves, and i regularly shoot the 40 thru both guns. generally, this is not reccomended as both the 40 and the 10mm headspace on the case mouth, and the 40 is shorter than the 10, but the G20's extractor is sufficently strong to allow the 40 to headspace off of the extractor. ive regularly practiced with 40 thru my 1st gen since i bought it new years ago without a problem ( this is because in my area, its pretty hard to find 10MM, and ive got a friend that reloads 40 by the thousands for me and him both:) ). im not reccomending that you shoot 40 thru your G20 (if you have one), thats a decision you need to make for yourself.
as for hunting with the 10MM, ive killed ALOT of different game animals with mine, from wild boar to whitetail and blacktail deer, ect. Ted Nuggent, rock musician and prominant big game hunter uses the G20 almost exclusively as a side arm/primary hunting gun all over the world. remeber , the 10MM ( in the figures) is just a semi-auto 41 magnum.
if you own one, you could not have made a better choice, if you dont, you better go get one.
