It can be done however NEF says not to, you will need a bottom tap, or first drill the holes and start the threads with the tap in all the holes, then grind off the pointy part of the tap leaving only a small taper to the threads and finish the holes to the bottom, depth control is important with that thin chamber, so get a drill stop on the drill before you start drilling. Take some super glue and glue on the scope rail getting it strait and on top, then take a drill that just fits in the scope base holes and drill a very small start in each hole, use this to locate the tap size drill holes, the scope base will pop off the super glue with a sharp tap with anything hard. The tap is a number 6-48 national special. Nef does drill and tap their slug barrels. Good luck, and glue will work for only one shot. Larry
