I have only heard good things about them. If you have the extra cash I say go for it, but I could not say how much better they are than a regular 336.

Maybe more versatile, but I do not know if it is worth that much more.

I picked up a 336 XLR 30-30 a few months ago. I love it. It shoots really well with the LeverEvolution ammo. Haven't tried any other ammo in it yet though. I scoped it with a Leupold 3-9x. My main uses of this rifle will be whitetail deer and woodchuck.

I like the stainless, as this is a hunting gun that probably will get wet and messy. Also like the stainless since it's humid as a mother around here in the summer.

Only thing I don't like is the look of the stocks. I know the laminated wood will be better for messy weather, but they grey/black look kinda looked weird at first. It's growing on me now, really don't even notice it. Just get a black micarta stocked single action revolver to pair with it. Nice color coordination.  :)

If you have the cash, definitely jump on one. It's a great rifle.
