Ruger Hawkeye 270
« on: October 17, 2007, 06:15:43 PM »
I was wondering what everyones thoughts were the Hawkeye compared to the MKII.I have read about the differences, but I want hands on experiences.Accuracy,durability,etc.I have read good and bad which you usually do on all rifles. This would be strictly a hunting rifle and occasionaly to punch paper.BPS in Nashville has them on sale for $549.Is this a good price? It will be the stainless model. Thanks in advance.

I have two MK2's, on in 30/06 and one in .350 Rem Mag. Just bought a Hawkeye in 22-250. The biggest difference is the trigger. I installed Rifle Basix triggers on both of the MK2's - the Hawkeye trigger is good out of the box. Stocks are slimmed down a bit and I like the new matte stainless finish and the Ruger eagle on the floorplate. All three are very accurate, I'm getting 3" groups with the 22-250 at 300 yards. I think $549 is the regular price - that's what I paid for mine.
