NEED A LITTLE 22-250 DATA??
« on: October 18, 2007, 07:53:12 PM »
Any body reloading the heavies in 22-250.  I am putting together a 1in8 twist 22-250 for the heavies.  I am looking for some reloading data for the heavies.  I am particularly interested in any data for the Hornady 75 grain A-Max??  Any one have any experience with H-414??  I would like to achieve 3300 fps with the 75 grain pill.  I will probably need a long tube-any suggestions??  Thanks, Tom.

The best source of loading data for Hornady bullets is the Hornady Manual.  On page 151 of their #6 Manual are loads for the 75 A-Max with seven different powders, including H414.  The data panel states that this bullet will not stabilize in a 10" twist and slower barrels.

The start load for H414 is 32.8 grains giving 2900 fps.  The maximum load gives a listed 3300 fps.  Their test barrel was 26" long.
