Marlin 60 trigger guard

Do any of you guys know if Marlin (or anyone else for that matter) makes or has ever made a trigger guard or trigger guard assembly for the newer model 60 (w/ last shot bolt hold open) that's actually made of real metal?

If so where should I start looking for one? I've tried google, and checked the big name part suppliers. I've also talked to a Marlin customer service guy, all he could tell me was that they had replacement trigger guard assemblies - but not what they were made of...  :-\

No, and I'm really not too worried about it breaking... but...

I bought it a few years back, (60 SB) and It's the best shooting .22 auto I've ever fired. I guess I just got lucky w/ this one. It's favorite ammo is bulk remmy golden bullets, believe it or not... It'll keep 'em inside of 1 1/2" at 100yds... (really ticks off the guys w/ their tricked out 10/22's at the range.) It's a truly fantastic gun, best $165 I've ever spent, and that cheap looking plastic trigger guard just doesn't do it any justice at all.

mine is like a synthetic wood painted black. it is very hard but mine is one of the early marlin .22 autos. it is a great gun and i wouldn't worry about it. i have shot so far over 6,000 rounds. when it reached right at 5,000 i figured it needed cleaning it had got bad fouled up. well now it shoots fine and i haven't had but one jam and that was because i had mixed ammo between hollow points. its in my mind better than the 10/22. take the one off you have and see if you can make one. that's what i did on the rem 700

The one reason I bought a used Glenfield 60 this year was because yes they do shoot well and I always figured they shot better than most Rugers out of the Box. I know mine shoots extremely well at 50 I never shot it at a 100.

I'm starting to think I'm going to have to fabricate one myself if I want one. I've had no luck at all with this project so far. Fortunately my brother works at the machine shop here at WVU, I might be able to snag some time with the tools there... If I decide to do it I'll probably go with aluminum or ss and machine and polish... It might seem kinda silly to put all that into a "cheap" gun... But I don't think I'll ever be parting with this gun, and that ugly hunk o' plastic just galls me...

i have been thinking about the brass of something like that something like brass anyways and seeing about a walnut stock and putting a gloss finish over the whole thing making it look more nice
