Remington 700 Bolt Lock Question.

Does anybody know why some of the 700's have the bolt lock (ISS) on them and some of them don't?

If you're talking about the "J" lock, they discontinued it this year.  Lots of folks that had never owned a Remington in their life couldn't stand the aesthetics of it.
