''NEF/H&R sells the correct Williams peep site for about $18''-where are you getting that information? I think the combination of a front firesight and a rear peep site would work well-I have a nice savage #219 with a peep site and I replaced the front sight with a firesight because I couldn't see it and it works well-plus the gun carries well, which is another factor in its favour.

See the Peep and Firesights link in the Centerfire FAQs and Help sticky. ;)

I was just looking at my Savage #219 with a Lyman ghost ring which screws into the side of the receiver-and comparing it to my Tamer-it looks like iot would fit-if I could get a longer screw that is in the side, then D&T another one just ahead of it to accomodate the side mount.Has anybody else mounted a receiver sight on the side-or do they just D&T the barrel? The Lyman ghost ring sits down nice and tight
