This is my first post on this part of Greybeard, I have been bad, I was sneakin' into the campfire, (so to speak) without sayin' hey, poor manners, but I do send my apologies.
I just won this on Gunbroker, but I've always been partial to blondes!!!!
Jukar .45, partially finished, but I really like the light coloration so I will try to leave the stock unchanged.
My first partial, but I think I am going to try a kit .32 percussion at some point.

Hey Doktor,
My first side lock was a Traditions Crockett, .32 cal. I bought it from a friend who was liquidating some of his assets at a bad time. I told him I would give it back to him at a later date, but he noticed how much I loved the little gun that he never asked for it back.

I really like your gun with that blond finish, is it maple? Have one gun (CZ 527- in hornet) that is a birdseye maple and it is beautiful.

I just found this discussion board, so I thought I'd better introduce myself. I started building muzzleloaders about 3 1/2 years ago just after my wife of 19 years told me she wanted a divorce. I found working with wood very therapeutic. I have now built about 6 muzzleloaders including two from scratch from a blank. Here's a video of a matchlock musket that I built from scratch last year. I made everything myself except for the barrel and the breech plug. It has a 42" 75 caliber barrel and is really fun to shoot.

a 10ga underhammer? I must say I have never seen one of those before.
I would be afraid the wrist (the rifles, not mine

) would snap.
I assume it is a smoothbore? That would be a blast goose hunting!
The matchlocks up the page are great looking, I am building a .32
cal matchlock myself but money is a little slim right now so it is not finished.

Colonial Virginia .54 cal. 42" barrel flinter that I built a few yrs ago. I've built a bunch but really like the wood on this one also built all the accutrements to go with it. Love to shoot flinters, they're additive.

That's absolutely beautiful!

Nothing like a curly maple stock! I've got a 32 cal flinter in the works but haven't started whitling on the wood yet. I hope it has the color and figure yours does!

As much as I like building these rifles, I get just as much enjoyment out of producing the fixins!

Thanks, AtlLaw, same here, the fixins are as important as the gun. Waiting for some parts now to build a 42" .50 cal fowler. Getting the supreme + curly maple, hoping it will be as good as this one.

Thanks Huntsman! That piece of wood actually came from Oregon. I'm trying to save up for a flintlock to be built by Ron Gueldner - he's the builder of this Ohio style half stock rifle.

Here's my short guns: a Ruger Old Army, an Italian .44 Model 1860, and another Italian - a .36 Patterson.

This is another M1860, but with a 5 1/2" bbl.

Now for my long guns: First, a T/C Renegade .54 capgun and a T/C Hawken/GM .32 capgun.

And a roundball gun, a 1:66, .50 cal rocklock Austin & Halleck Mountain Rifle.

And, of course, a patch knife I made for them last week.

Along with the possibles bag I sewed up over 25 years ago.
