CZ 527 .223 need load work up
« on: October 23, 2007, 11:08:51 AM »
I am wondering if anyone has one of these.  I just picked on up and I am looking to shoot the 40grn V-Max bullets out of it.  This is going to be a 300 yrd max gun and is going to be toted around for small farms that I am not shooting my 22-250.  I am really really wanting to shoot the 40 grn  bullets.  Looking for load work up.

I don't think the twist rate will support 40 grainers. IIRC it is either a 9 twist. If so, you would need a heavier projectile for decent accuracy.

from the cz post :::

223 Rem - 1:12 Unless it has the HS Precision stock it is then 1:9

hope this helps!

Mine is the Kevlar .223 Varmint and is a 1:9
If you have the standard with wood stock it will be 1:12
Some Laminate stocked ones have 1:9 but most have 1:12

I have not got around to shooting the 40 V-max in my CZ yet.
However a 1:9 will most certianley shoot 40 V-Max just fine.

This is from my old AR with a 1:9
My Savage 12FV did alot better, I'll look for a pic.
