Anybody Have the Lee Manual?

Could you tell me it has loads for the 7.5 X 54 French MAS?

I know they supply the loads with their dies but I was wondering if they were in the manual.

They have loads listed for the 7.5X55 Swiss. Since I personaly dont know anything about the 7.5's you'll have to tell me if these are the same or different. Anyway, hope thet helps. Oh, This is in the first Lee manual. I think they have another one out now but I havn't seen it yet.

They are different cartridges but very similar. I've got data for the Swiss 7.5

I saw where someone published some data that came with their Lee dies and it was quite extensive for a single bullet weight. I was hoping that the Lee manual might have that and the rest. I'd rather buy the manual than dies I already have.

None in the Lee manual I have, although I hear they have a new one out.

There is some load information on this link. Don't know how good it is, but might be worth a look.

I had a 7.5 MAS, briefly.

You can form cases from 6.5x55 brass. I used Norma, but Lapua would do as well. Do not use any of the American made 6.5x55 brass. Their specs at the web are too small for me to trust in a MAS chamber.

I just used .300 Savage loading data. Right bullet diameter, right pressure levels. Savage case is a bit smaller so any pressure change would be on the safe side.

On page 52 of the latest Rifle Magazine has an article on the French MAS mod 36 and there are  couple loads on page 55.  Good luck.

Page 439 to 441. Be careful if using 300 Savage loads as stated in a prior post. A quick sampling comparing the two shows some of the loads would be dangerously over maximum in the MAS.

I took a quick look and found three things.

1. Lee did not actually shoot their 7.5 MAS data, they took it from some other cartridge. See the top of each page on the 7.5 MAS.

2. Lee cut off .300 Savage data at 45,000 psi, the MAS at 40,000.

3. And maybe I shoulda been explicit on this, I used the starting loads for .300 Savage and only the 150 grain bullet. Dunno that I worked up any, but I may have. I ain't such a fool as to start off with top data for any cartridge.

As you point out, the current Lee manual has data. Might as well use it.
I did not have such a resource so I used what I had to find a starting load. Worked out fine and I'll do something similar the next time I run into a cartridge I don't have data for.

Did some more looking and found the Lee manual did much the same thing I did. The Lee data for the 7.5 MAS seems to be the same data they used for the .30-40 Krag.
