.375 JDJ load data request
« on: June 16, 2003, 11:10:16 AM »
I'm having a heck of a time finding good data for this cartridge.  I am especially interested in loads for the 260 Ballistic Tip.

I have AA2520, H4895, R15 on hand and have been thinking about picking up some varget.  I understand AA2520 is the classic powder, same with the 6.5 JDJ, but recently with the JDJ folks have been saying that R15 and Varget are terrific.  Problem is that the Hornady and Hodgden manuals, the one I have, don't list the faster powders with the 270 gr. bullets.

Any info is appreciated, Thanks!

J.D. will send you a load sheet free.
2520 is excellent...45.0 grs @ 1772 fps   50.0 grs MAXIMUM @ 1925 fps
H4895..................43.9 grs @1700 fps    48.0 grs Maximum @ 2000 fps

These loads are for 270 gr bullets, I am sure it was a typo, but you said 260 gr in the subject line, and 270 gr in the message.

Also...220 Hornady's work excellent with 48.0-52.0 grs of 2520.
....make it count

Nope not a typo just be not being very clear :)!

260 Nosler Ballitic tip is the bulle I want data for, 270 was just making reference to the fact that the Hornady bullet is the only one I can find referenced anywhere.

Sorry for not being more clear!

Hornady has data for there bullets but nothing for the 260 ballistic tip.

Anybody have JD's load info on the .375 they would care to mail or fax to me.  JD charges a couple of bucks for data.  If not I will just give him a call and have him send it, but I thought I might be able to save a couple of dollars.
