So I save up and decided that I'm going to buy a new rifle. I determine that I "need" a Tikka T3 in stainless laminate in a 25-06. I have a friend that works at the local Sportsman's Warehouse, so I order the rifle through him. It's not in stock so he orders it from their warehouse. Three or four days later it comes in. I go in to pick it up and take it out of the box. I notice that the checkering is really rough. It looked like it was cut with a really dull bit, or possibly double cut. The lines are really fuzzy. My friend looks at the rifle and feels the same way, he hasn't seen one come through that was cut that poorly before. My friend says no problem. He takes the rifle and sends it back to Beretta with a work request to have the rifle re-stocked.
Today had been about six weeks, and my friend called a couple days ago to let me know the rifle came back. I went in today and we went to the back room and located the rifle. I took it out of the box to check it. Whala..... absolutely nothing has changed. If possible it looks like they may have went over it with a brush and actually knocked down some of the raised checkering making it worse. I was very disappointed. Consequently after saying a few choice words my friend orders me a NEW rifle and says that he will have it out with Beretta over this defective one. So cudos to my friend and Sportsman's Warehouse for attempting to make this purchase right. But what kind of customer service is that from Beretta? Why send something back that is clearly not fixed? I'm almost regretting the purchase now......
Has anyone else had customer service issues from the factory?
