300win;
We do have more than two parties to choose from; Republican, Democrat, Conservative, Liberal, ..then they go to special issues; Right-to-life, Greens. peoples Workers, CPUSA (Commies) and several others including the one Ross Perot tried to launch with his billions.
It is in a way, too bad that we don't have more parties to choose from; but would more parties be the answer ? Look at Italy since WW2, they have had times when they have had many parties competing. That didn't end the confusion, in fact it seemed to exacerbate the situation.
There are many "multiple party" countries, and many of them are "banana republics".
The tragic thing is that the only way a party can gain strength is through numbers..so they actively recruit. multiple parties simply seem to attenuate the voting blocks , and not necessarily to the people's advantage !
It is indeed strange that as individuals we often think "only 2 parties" ; when that is not really true. I for instance, am a member of the Conservative party, which is not very strong.
So why don't the minor parties gain strength ?
..Because people have, and make..choices ! Perhaps they don't even consider the minor parties, but the only way we can give them more clout is by joining those parties .
Possibly the complainers about the two major parties are part of the problem..if they are still enrolled in a "major" and ignoring the "minors".
Things are not likely to change anytime soon, so when entering the voting booth we should make a wise choice for the best "imperfect" candidate and not hand victory to a real bummer, by default.
Some here say they will not vote for a less than perfect candidate, just to vote AGAINST someone !
So, I leave you with this question:..Is voting AGAINST HILLARY, truly a BAD thing to do ?
