Remington XCR stock on ADL
« on: October 27, 2007, 09:23:25 AM »
A question for the experts.  I was about to purchase a Remington L/A XCR stock and a floor plate with accessories for my L/A ADL.  I was recently told the XCR stocks will not fit on ADL model rifles.  I realize the difference in magazine types.  Aside from that, can anyone confirm or deny this information.  Thanks in advance.

I can neither confirm or deny it. But if they are both long action Model 700s the only thing that should matter is barrel contour. I'm not sure if the ADL and XCR have the same barrel contour as Remington does use several different barrel contours on their rifles but the actions are the same. So long as you have the proper parts you can convert between ADL and BDL magazines going in either direction.

The Mtn. Rifles have the thinest barrels and the Varmint rifles the thickest. All the others are somewhere in between. I think all BDL standard rounds have one taper but that magnums have a bit different thicker taper. I think but am not sure that ADL and BDL tapers are same for same chamberings. I just plain dunno on the XCR tho.
