357 mag
« on: October 28, 2007, 05:57:14 AM »
I need some help with load data for the bbl that should be here next week. First what is the PSI or the CUP pressure for the 357 mag handi. What I am gonna do is load some mag and I have data for that but I also am gonna use 360DW brass I have H110 powder that I want to use I will be trying some Cast Preformance bullets looking more for 180 grain or heavier  bullet loads.358 on the cast also I have some 35 cal 180 grain speer hot core bullets .358 that I want to try. I have not done any reloading for pistol brass yet so any suggestions are welcomed not really lookjing for max loads just some thing safe and sensible to start with. Even links to where I might find some info are good. Thanks Kurt

Kurt

The 357 MAX will run 48000 CUP and the 500 S&W in a Handi will be in the 55000 CUP range so just about any 357 Mag or 360 DW load should be fine in that barrel .

As for load data , Hodgdon has it for the 357 Mag and MAX on their web site using H110 with jacketed bullets up to 180 grain in the mag and 200 grain jacketed in the MAX .

H4227 is also a good powder for the 357 mag , 360DW and the 357 Max .

Also take a look at this for your cast loads

Stimpy although I want to use these 180grain hotcores ...you like those 200 LRN cast that bullet should be deadly out to 150 on deer don't you think? may have to give them a try in the 360DW brass. Kurt
